Travis Scott Hosts Annual Celebrity Softball Game: Uniting Stars for a Cause

( ENSPIRE Community ) Inside Rapper Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic

Musical artist Travis Scott hosted the second annual Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU softball game at Minute Maid Park. Travis Scott’s foundation partnered with Project H.E.A.L. and the Astros Foundation. All working to raise money for their shared mission of furthering educational and creative resources. 

The event had a variety of celebrity players such as Metro Boomin, Teyana Taylor, Ne-Yo, Amber Rose, Anthony Mackie, Swae Lee, Stefon Diggs, DeAndre Hopkins, Jose & Josie Canseco Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Bregman, Jeremy Peña, Kyle Tucker, Tank Dell, Reggie Jackson, Andre Dawson, Robinson Cano, Chase B, Jeff Bagwell, Warren Moon, Scarface, Bun B, Michael Brantley, Mauricio Dubon, Andruw Jones, Gary Sheffield, CC Sabathia, Johnny Manziel, Adrian Peterson, Andre Johnson, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, and Trae Tha Truth. With CJ Stroud winning the MVP award.

The game began by recognizing and honoring the Waymond Webster HBCU scholarship recipients from 2020 to 2024. Along with that, the Webster family received the HBCU Vanguard Award and a proclamation from NAACP Houston. The award recognized their important contribution to HBCUs through the Waymon Webster HBCU Scholarship Fund. 

The event was sponsored by Nike, Fanatics, Jordan, CACTI, Polaris, Raising Cane’s, Trill Burger, and Houston Housing Authority. All the proceeds went to Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation, Project H.E.A.L., and Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund. The Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund has provided over $1,000,000 in Scholarships to over 100 HBCU students.

The Cactus Jack Foundation has the very important mission of empowering the lives of youth by providing access to creative and educational resources. The foundation focuses on the importance of motivating youth to aim high and work towards their goals. They are committed to extending educational opportunities to everyone, regardless of their circumstances. 

Project H.E.A.L. partnered with Scott’s foundation to address challenges facing youth today. They focus on initiatives ranging from academic scholarships, free mental health resources, a creative design center, and solutions for event safety. These projects aim to solve challenges and issues negatively impacting youth. Learn more at heal-project.org.

This event was an inspiring blend of philanthropy, community, and sportsmanship. It showcased the importance of empowering our youth through education and creative resources. It also served as a testament to the Webster family’s support for HBCUs. The event left a lasting impact on participants and spectators.
