Vision Films has just revealed its newest project titled Crescent Gang. The story follows seven foster kids who embark on a quirky adventure to find a new home. This film is a family-oriented and thought-provoking commentary on the foster care system and homelessness. Directors Gino Payne and Onyx Keesha have outdone themselves with this extraordinary film.
ENSPIRE loves to highlight creative ways to connect with audiences, as this film does. In fact, the co-directors of the film have experience in the foster care system themselves. Hence, this valuable and honest insight contributes to the film’s genuine expression. A story like this yields the beautiful power to connect people and help viewers unite over a common experience.
The story follows seven foster kids who are heartbroken when they learn that their group home has been sold. Unfortunately, they are reminded of the daunting fact that they are to be separated. Then, a successful family attorney is assigned to them. Having grown up in the foster system herself, she questions whether she is using her skills and talent for the right reasons. When their paths are brought together, they find that there is always help and hope for those daring enough to seek it.
This is a poignant, loving film that reminds us that sometimes “family” is who you make it. In addition, the film spouts positive takeaways from the cast’s portrayal of perseverance, bravery, and teamwork. Crescent Gang stars a diverse and young cast that lights up the screen, including Valeria Camero (Dear Diary), Mariah Tavares (Abbott Elementary), Kira Marie (The Higher Spirit), and Zenja Dunn (Criminal Minds) among others.
