Tony Award Winner Myles Frost plays the character adapted from Michael Jackson. Frost kicks off the soundtrack with ‘Beat It,’ carrying impressive energy throughout his performance. Particularly with songs like ‘Billie Jean,’ and ‘Thriller,’ audiences get a blast from the past. Playwright Lynn Nottage wrote ‘MJ’, and Christopher Wheeldon took on the project as director. Unfortunately because of COVID, the show postponed its mid-2020 premiere on Broadway. Eventually, ‘MJ’ premiered at the Neil Simon Theatre on Feb. 1, 2022. The musical has since been nominated for 10 Tony Awards. Four of which markedly won for Best Choreography, Best Lighting Design, Best Sound Design, and as aforementioned, Best Actor in a Musical.

Evidently, the release of ‘MJ The Musical’ is cause for moonwalking indeed! Be sure to give it a listen on Apple Music, Spotify, and more.
